EMI Filter
Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is a disturbance that affects an electrical circuit and electric devices. The EMI can cause a malfunction of the device or the circuit. EMI Filters can protect your devices from EMI and guarantee a proper functionality. EMI filters are used for digital processing systems, telecommunication systems and for power converter applications. The Sourcetronic Three-phase EMI Filters are based on a state-of-the-art filter concept with a minimized volume to ensure an easy installation. The filter modules can be used with AC-Drives ranging from 0.75KW up to 630KW with currents from 5A up to 1200A and work properly in area temperatures from -25°C up to 85°C. The functionality of a frequency inverter is achieved by pulsing a DC voltage. There is a basic wave and many upper waves. They can unintentionally unite in different devices, systems and systems in various ways.
In addition, a frequency converter generates high frequency electromagnetic waves. These can spread in the room and unintentionally interfere with the wavelength in equipment and lines and lead to a malfunction. Energized interference voltages from the mains are a problem for many frequency converters. However, electrical and electronic apparatus and systems in the vicinity of a frequency converter are also impaired by its emitted interference. In both cases, an EMI line filter is provided at the power supply input. Such a filter suppresses the energetic interference voltages from the network. First, the mains choke, which is integrated in the EMI line filter, reduces the low-frequency noise. Other components, which are integrated in the EMI line filter, filter out the high-frequency interference.
