Brake unit DBU
External brake units especially are used for applications with heavy loads and rapid load changes on the engine. The brake unit protects the inverter against excessive energy from the engine in the intermediate circuit. This excess energy is converted by the brake unit, which is connected to the braking resistors, in thermal energy and released to the environment.
