Aluminium Brake Resistor
Brake resistors are important components in the operation of electrical machines. They are activated when the motor is started and serve as protection for the motor. Here brake resistors, as the name already explains, for braking. There is a frequency converter between the motor and the resistor. As soon as the motor is to be stopped, the frequency is reduced via the frequency converter. However, the engine continues to run and electrical energy is generated that is declining. The frequency converter is thus a very high voltage, the nun is converted into heat in the brake resistor.
Powerful brake resistors SXLG
The compact brake resistors of the SXLG series are installed in a robust aluminum housing. The power classes reaches from 60 W to 2000 W with a voltages up to 1200 V. The resistances ranges reaches from 1 Ohm to 10 kOhm. By simple mounting, with light and small design with tested protection class IP33, the braking resistors are ideally suited for operation with frequency converters or servo motors. The aluminum housing resistor in the SXLG series is superior to the traditional porcelain frame resistance in terms of weather resistance, vibration resistance and safety.
