What is null calibration and how do I perform it?

When measuring with an LCR meter, the accuracy of the results is crucial. The resistance of the test leads is also measured, which can distort the actual result. Null calibration compensates for the impedance of the cables.

With Sourcetronic LCR meters, this value is stored, so the procedure does not need to be repeated — as long as the same cables are used. If the cables are changed, a new null calibration must be performed.
