ST500 | Err.03, what does this message mean and what can you do?
If the error message Err.03 appears on the frequency inverter display, it means an overcurrent occurred during the braking phase.
Causes:
- Braking time is set too short (F0.14), motor voltage is set too low (b0.02), missing motor parameters for vector control (b0.00 to b0.10), sudden increase in motor load during the braking phase, no brake unit/brake resistor installed, or short circuit at the inverter output.
Solutions:
- Increase the braking time using parameter F0.14.
- Set the motor voltage correctly with parameter b0.02, according to the nameplate, considering star/delta.
- Set parameters b0.00 to b0.10 to enable vector control (see FAQ Motor Parameters).
- Reduce sudden load changes during braking.
- Install a brake unit or brake resistor.
- Check motor and wiring for short circuits.
