ST300 Series | E40, what does this message mean, and what can be done?

If the error message E40 appears on the frequency converter display, it indicates the activation of Safe Torque Off (STO).

Causes:
The Safe Torque Off function has been intentionally activated by external safety switches.

Solutions:
Check who has triggered the safety switches.
