ST300 Series | E20, what does this message mean, and what can be done?
If the error message E20 appears on the frequency converter display, it indicates a motor auto-tuning error.
Causes:
The motor power does not match the power of the frequency converter. This error can easily occur if the difference is more than five power classes.
Motor parameters are not set correctly.
The parameters obtained from auto-tuning differ greatly from the standard parameters.
Auto-tuning timeout.
(for synchronous motors only) Pulse current value P13.06 is too high.
Solutions:
Change the inverter model or use the V/f mode P00.00 = 2, which does not require tuning.
Set the correct motor type in P02.00 and configure parameters P02.01 – P02.05 according to the motor nameplate.
Repeat auto-tuning. Remove the motor load and perform a full auto-tuning P00.15 = 1.
Check motor wiring and parameter settings.
Ensure that the upper frequency limit P00.04 is greater than 2/3 of the motor’s rated frequency.
Reduce P13.06.
If none of these causes apply, please contact technical support.
