Turns Ratio
Sometimes turns ratio is also called gear ratio.
Transformers are typical translators of voltages and currents. Transformers can’t translate to DC. The translation of the input and output voltage (or intensity current) is determined by the ratio of turns of wire of the primary coil to the secondary coil (the turns ratio).
