Measurement precision

The measurement precision refers to the deviation of the measurement reading from the true absolute physical value, both, digital and analog. Therefore absolute measurement readings are examined and compared with a physically almost ideal working measuring device.

Example: two wrist watches display the time with a resolution of 1 second. If one is a radio controlled watch, it will always show the absolute correct time, as exact as it can be generated physically. The second wrist watch is a typical quartz watch and might display a deviation of 10 seconds after a month. This watch can be denoted to be imprecise.
